The Boston Holiday Challenge is a meet that brings top level high school track and field competitors
from the New England area into the Reggie Lewis Center to perform and evaluate their skills needed
for progressing further into the season. The Newton South Boys, on their holiday break, took this opportunity not only to better their track skills but at the same time were acknowledged for their efforts at this invitational meet.
Both Seniors, Jeffrey Alkins' 39'6" triple jump and Patrick Kuffour's long jump 19'3"
illustrates good skills that will surely develop through the season. Kuffour's 6.79 put him in the 55 meter dash finals where he accomplished a 6th place medal. Brooks Remy ran a personal best in the 600 meters 1:29.2.
The 4x200 relay team 1:36.5 with Tyrone Thornton, Grant Henderson, Jeffrey Alkins, Patrick Kuffour, and the 4x400 relay with Andrew O'Hagan, Brooks Remy, Conor O'Brien, David Melly, 3:39.6 were both awarded 5th place.
