NXN Northeast Championships at Bowdoin Park

The NXN Northeast Championships at Bowdoin Park were held today. The top winning teams from each of 4 races around the country are flown to Portland, Oregon for the Nike Championships. Last year Newton South and Lincoln Sudbury girls went to Oregon. This year LS was favored in the Northeast but had a bad day along with NS. LS was 6th with 176 points followed by NS in 7th only 4 points behind. The big surprise was Bishop Feehan from Massachusetts winning the girls race. Congratulations!
Note that the LS total team time was 1.5 seconds faster than NS!

so, no nationals for south OR l-s?

There are 8 regional qualifying races. The top 2 teams from each region are automatically in (16 teams). Then, Nike picks 6 more at large teams (total 22). It is unlikely that NS or LS would be chosen.

Those 22 teams are brought to Portland, Oregon completely on Nike's nickel.
