Note from Steven:
We went to Andover Boosters on Saturday. The meet included Andover, AB, Billerica, BL, Brookline, Cent Cath, Chelm, Dracut, Haverhill, Lawrence, Lex, Meth, NS, Need, N. Andover, N. Reading, Peabody, Reading, Tewks, Westford, Weston, Weymouth and Whit-H.
We had a really good day. We had some very positive races on the track and we have improved greatly. Now we all feel both ready and excited for the post season.
Our high light race was the 800 in which all three girls ran PRs.
Kayla Burton finish 2nd in the 800 in a PR of 2:17.03. This time now ranks her 2nd in the entire state. Lizzie Fineman finished 8th in a PR of 2:21.62 while freshman Catharine Pierce ran a PR of 2:27.80 which qualifies her for the State Division I.
Kyra Visnick won the Pole Vault in a season best 10' which ranks her tied for 1st in Ea. Ma. Division I. Kyra is getting comfortable on her bigger pole and was jumping very well.
Frosh Lizzy Walkes continues to impress as she finished 3rd in 26.30. Ashley Nhek ran 28.78.
Rebecca Grusby had a very strong kick to finish 3rd in the mile in 5:13.47 a season best. Lucrecia Aguilar ran a season best mile in 5:34.74. In the frosh/soph mile Matia Whiting set a PR in 5:48.12.
Our 4 x 800 of Lizzie Fineman, Alkehya Chaparala, Lucrecia Aguilar and Kayla Burton finished 4th in a season best time of 9:50.68. Alekhya split 2:24.
I like the direction that our 4 x 800 is going. When we field our best line up and if we run close to our PR splits we can run with any team in the state.
Our 4 x 100 of Lizzie Walkes, Kyra Visnick, Yuriko Furumura, Charlotte Huth ran 52.64.
Sonya Nair, Caroline Delheim, Sophia Cen and Liza Hochberg ran 4:24.24 in the 4 x 400.
Jonee Harrison put the shot 30'0" and threw the discus 86'11". Anna Alsop put the shot 25'9" while Jina An threw the discus 65'3"
Karina Alfisher threw the javelin 86'7 while Julia Hurwitz threw 75'6"
Michaela Wong long jumped 13'2" and Lizzie Walkes went 30'5" in the triple jump.
Frosh Liza Hochberg ran a PR in the 400 in 64.80 and Sophia Cen ran 65.64.
Margalit Glasgow ran a season best 12:39.91 for 2 miles
Charlott Huth and Yuriko Fukumura ran the 100 in 13.40 and 13.95.
Both 100 Hurdlers ran big PRs. Esther Cho ran a .6 PR to qualify for Ea. ma. D. I in 17.18 and Anna Mason ran a PR of 18.10.
